UPDATE - DOMINO & VALLIE ARE FOUND!

(Update posted Dec. 10, 2005) Steve was out of town when the storm hit and his dogs were  with the pet sitter. The dogs were let out of the house after the storm and have been on the streets since.

Domino (dalmation) was found a few weeks ago by a resident. It took him a while to befriend Domino but it finally paid off and the man called Steve's phone number on Domino's tag.

Vallie was found, by Steve, a few days ago (white dog with black around eye). He has been hanging signs with her photo in the vicinity where Domino was found. He hung MANY signs and spent MANY hours and days looking for her. This finally paid off when he began to get calls that people were spotting her. When he received a call from someone who has just seen her he went to the location and sure enough, it was her. She had obviously been living with a pack of dogs that she was with at the time. The location is an abandoned house in the Marigny/9th Ward area. He saw Vallie from across the street and called her name. She came running across the street at the sound of Steve's voice. They are so happy to be reunited. Vallie also had her tag on which I am sure others have seen and could not get the dog to come to them.

Unfortunately, Goldie (tan dog) passed away in the storm. Steve will miss her so much. He was also able to save 5 of his 6 cats. One is still missing.

Steve would like to thank everyone who has been helping to look for Vallie. It truly does pay off to get out there and walk the streets incase they are still around. Not all of them were rescued.

Thanks, Steve, Traci and Maria
