TACO HAS BEEN FOUND!
Update-June 28, 2006 - Taco has been FOUND!
From Taco's owner in email to a Stealth Volunteer, "I found Taco about a month ago living under our old house in St. Bernard Parish. I tried to get him, but he was scared and he ran away every time. I have a neighbor that moved back a month ago into a FEMA trailer in St. Bernard Parish and she has been feeding him for me. She told me that she stayed behind during the hurricane and when the water rose, she swam to a rooftop. She told me that she saw Taco on another rooftop crying for help as well. She was rescued by boat hours later.
I went to ARNO last week and got a cat trap last week. I set the trap on Monday, June 26, 2006 at 2:30 and he was caught an hour later at 3:30. I took him home with me the same day and he was very loving with me. He remembers his name and seems to remember me as well. He visited the vet on yesterday and they told me that he is doing well, although he is underweight. They gave him shots and medicine and sent him home with me. I am grateful for your dedication and long hours. I never gave up on him and I am thankful for everyone's help and concern.
Thanks again for all of your help and support. Keep up the good work. "
